August 19th, 2009: New City Manager Mark Scott met with the neighborhood association. He shared a bit about himself and listened to the thought of those in attendanceCCPD
Lt. Dean Williams gave an update on police activity in the area. Sgt. Alan Azran talked about the Police Department's approach to homeless issues.
February 19th, 2009: Presentation by Culver City Redevelopment Agency staff and the landscape architect of the proposed design for the first segment of landscaped medians along Washington Blvd (Wade St. to Beethoven). There was a very positive reaction to the design and a sense of urgency that the work proceed as quickly as possible. CCPD

Scott Malsin spoke about the serious budgetary issues facing Culver City.
August 26th, 2008: Presentation by the developer of a proposed project at the corner of Washington Blvd. and Marcasel Ave. The project was described as "a three story (43 feet in height) medical office and retail building totaling approximately 54,000 square feet with parking for over 200 cars on site." Lt.
Ron Iizuka provided us with an update on recent activity in the area.
July 15th, 2008: Presentation by the developer of a project on Washington Blvd. between Moore and Meier streets. The proposed project will have ground floor retail and 8 office
condominiums (for sale office space) and provide 21 additional metered
public parking spaces beyond what is required for the building itself. The response from those in attendance was positive.
September 20th, 2007: Presentation by Upward Bound House, a non-profit social service agency based in Santa Monica, where it operates a transitional housing facility for homeless families and an affordable housing facility for very low income seniors. They are proposing to turn the Sunbay Motel into short-term (90 days) emergency housing for homeless families. There
was also a short presenntation of the pending development of the property between
Moore Street and Meier Street on Washington Boulevard (see graphic), and Culver
City Police Lt.
Ron Iizuka gave a neighborhood watch update.

17th, 2007: Presentation by the developer of an office/retail project
at the corner of Washington Place and Centinela Ave. Click
to read information on the project provided by the developer. The project
was well received and subsequently approved by the Planning Commission. Culver
City Police Lt.
Ron Iizuka gave a neighborhood watch update.

16th, 2006: Presentation by the developers of a mixed-use project
(19 units of housing and 4350 square feet of retail) on the site of the shuttered Mrs.
Garcia's Restaurant and a Neighborhood Watch update From Culver City Police Lt.

January 5th, 2006: Standard Pacific Homes, a developer,made a presentation about their proposal to develop condominiums, including live/work units, on the site of the Burger King at Washington Bl. and Walgrove Ave. CCPD Lt. Dean Williams gave a presentation on disaster preparedness. It was a very practical overview of what you can do to care for yourself, your family and your neighbors.
October 19th, 2005: Presentation by Ben Besley of The Olson Company and Culver City Redevelopment Agency Staff of the current conceptual plans for projects on the northeast and northwest corners of Washington Bl and Centinela Av. Councilman Alan Corlin, one of the subcommittee members overseeing this project, was in attendance to hear the feedback offered by neighbors. Review documentation and imagery from meeting

28th, 2005: Parks, Recreation Director William
LaPointe spoke with us about the City Council's direction to
rename Culver West Park in honor of former Mayor Richard Alexander. Attendees
gave unanimous feedback in opposition to any name change. Parks Department Senior Management Analyst Patty Mooney spoke about the recently-awarded matching funds from the state which will supplement county funds already allocated to improve Culver West Park.
April
28th, 2005: Police Chief John Montanio spoke
with us about local issues including traffic and the importance of neighborhood
involvement to effective crime prevention. Parks Department Recreation
Manager Marty Nicholson gave an overview of the Culver
West Park improvement program and on the City's application for a federal
matching grant to supplement the $147,000 in County Prop A funds already
allocated to park improvements.
January
20th, 2005:
Presentation by development firm Urban Equity Partners of their proposal for
a redevelopment project comprised of 24 loft-style units to be located
on the north side of Washington Boulevard between Meier Street and Moore Street.
Presenters were project manager Robert Little and architect Mike
Hong. John Fisanotti of the City's Redevelopment Agency
answered questions. Also on hand were Redevelopment Agency Administrator Todd
Tipton and the City Attorney's Community Outreach Coordinator Elaine
Hirohama.
December 2nd, 2004: Presentation by The Olson Company of their concept plan for the City's Washington/Centinela redevelopment project. This standing-room only meeting was filled with vigorous discussion of the potential impact of the project, both positive and negative. The presentation was made by Ben Besley of Olson. Redevelopment Agency staff in attendance included Redevelopment Administrator Todd Tipton, Project Manager Margaret Liu, and Management Analyst Elaine Gerety. Also in attendance was Elaine Hirohama of the City Attorney's office.
May 11th, May 12th & May 13th, 2004: Parks Department
staff conducted three follow-up meetings to a survey regarding potential improvements to
Culver West Park. The city received a considerable percentage of responses to the survey, which was mailed to area residents and available for download through the CWNA website.

March 11th 2004: City Council & City Treasurer Candidate Forum. The five candidates for City Council squared off in a wide-ranging discussion with an emphasis on west Culver City issues such as area redevelopment and Culver West Park. The two candidates for City Treasurer made presentations. There was also time given over to presentations for and against the Measure U ballot initiative.
January 21st 2004: Park Advisory Committee meeting. Discussion of current conditions at Culver West Park and a vision for the future (minutes). Follow-up meeting with Parks Department staff on January 29.
December 4th 2003: Captain
Bill Burck of the Culver City Police Department and Senior
Lead Officer Heidi Lllanes from LAPD Pacific Division discussed
the ways in which the two agencies coordinate their efforts in areas
such as ours which sit on the edges of their jurisdicitions.
October 25th 2003: Neighborhood cleanup on Wade Street. Approximately 20 volunteers, city staff & elected officials helped out.
October 23rd 2003: Follow-up
meeting: A second joint meeting with the Culver City City Council at
which city staff addressed issues raised on October 2nd. Mayor
Corlin and Councilmembers Gross and Rose were in attendance,
as well as staff including: Chief Administrative Officer Jerry
Fulwood,
Community Development Director Susan Evans, Public Works
Director Pam Keyes, Parks, Recreation & Community
Services Director Don Rogers, City Attorney Carol
Schwab, and Captain Cerris Black of the
Culver City Police Department.
October 2nd 2003: Special
joint meeting with the Culver City City Council regarding a shooting which
took place in Culver West Park on Saturday, September 27. All
councilmembers were in attendance, as well as staff including:
Chief Administrative Officer Jerry Fulwood, Community
Development Director Susan Evans, Public Works Director
Pam Keyes, Parks, Recreation & Community Services
Director Don Rogers, City Attorney Carol Schwab,
and Captains Cerris Black and Bill Burck
of the Culver City Police Department.

September 18th 2003: Our guest speakers were Jerry Fulwood, Culver City's Chief Administrative Officer, and Susan Evans, our Community Development Director. Being relatively new to the city, both introduced themselves to neighbors, and they addressed issues of interest including strategy for redevelopment, regional matters such as Playa Vista, and the city budget. Other staff present included Margaret Liu and Kellee Fritzal (Redevelopment), Marty Nicholson (Parks), Elaine Hirohama (City Attorney's Office), and Lt. Bruce Unoura (Police).
